Types of Periodontal Prophylaxis Treatments and therapy
- TEETH WHITENING SPLINT: Keeps a whitening agent on the surface of the teeth.
- ORTHODONTIC PROTECTIVE SPLINT: Impedes the movement of the teeth after an orthodontic treatment.
- PERIODONTIC SPLINT: Prevents the movement of teeth after periodontic treatments.
- OCCLUSAL OR MICHIGAN SPLINT: Consists of a plastic mouth guard to prevent tooth wear (bruxism) or to ‘forget’ inappropriate and incorrect mandibular positions.
- SURGICAL SPLINT: Used in surgical procedures for the placement of dental implants. They serve as an insertion and placement guide.
- MOUTH GUARDS: Protect the teeth during the practice of certain physical exercises.
